Prehistoric Preschool is a Museum program for 3-5 year-olds and their adult companions to explore natural history topics in a supportive and fun atmosphere. All activities are child-centered, hands-on, and age appropriate. Classes include two hours of crafts, songs, games, puppet shows, investigating specimens from the Museum's collections, Museum visits, and a fun and healthy snack. Classes take place every other week
Calling all future paleontologists! Explore the prehistoric landscape through a scientific lens. Don your paleontologist hat and discover the tools, language, and science used to unearth prehistoric beasts.

Discover a brand new world of possibilities through the exploration of several exciting fields of science. Be prepared to get down and dirty with reptiles and amphibians as a herpetologist, search far and wide for bugs as an entomologist, dig up some fascinating finds as a geologist, and discover the adaptations that made humans so successful as an anthropologist.

Preregistration is required. Click here to register.
All class participants must be accompanied by an adult. No more than two children may be registered per adult companion and no more than two adult companions may accompany any one child. Permission for attendance by siblings younger than 3 is made on a case-by-case basis with Early Childhood Educator. Maximum class size is 12 children and their adult companions.
Cancellations made within seven days before the program are subject to forfeiture of the full payment. Cancellations made prior to seven days before the program are subject to a 50% handling fee. A waiting list will be maintained for each session that is full; no deposit is required. People on the waiting list will be notified in sequential order. Full refund will be given if the session is canceled by the Museum due to low enrollment. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants.
$90.00 for the first child, $81.00 for the second child in the same family. Museum members receive a 10% discount. Scholarships are available for children who qualify.
